Perfect Mistake

I'm your perfect mistake,

the product of an immature male teen, not ready to grow up.

And a young woman, ready to grow up too fast.

I'm your perfect mistake,

born with creativity and selfishness, intelligence and ignorance,

sensitivity and hard-headed, courageous and cowardous, beauty and flaws.

I'm your perfect mistake,

I was born with a head full of hair, and though my eyes still closed,

were filled with hope.

For even though you were a new mother and we were by ourselves,

somehow I knew that we would be okay.

That something good always comes from a mistake,

you just have to make it perfect.
