The Perfect Pieces to Your Puzzle

Emptiness

What is this that I am feeling

There is nothing inside

But I feel weak

Who are you

You are not who you use to be

Glued to the hip

Tight like a knot

Two perfect puzzle pieces

I knock on the door to your heart

Please open up to me

Knock after knock

No clear response

I stand beside you

But it is like we are strangers

You are not you to me

I am not me to you

The knot slowly comes undone

The memories of the past keeping us together

Friendships are suppose to be forever

That is what I thought

But now my young eyes open to reality

We may only be together for a small time

Not everything last forever

Emptiness deepens

As I question why this must be real life

As graduation comes near

The knot undones more

The pain increases

We are not meant to be

Our lives move different paths

But later I find myself again

I find the pieces to my puzzle

Some things are not permanent

But the right things will fit forever
