The Perfect Storm

It has been many days since the storm at sea sank my ship,

my crew of six left on a life boat with room for six people,

their safety was more important than mine,

and now I am all alone on this island,

But I am lucky to still have my Bible,

I have had this copy since I was a kid,

it helped me during my troubled youth,

and it will certainly help me now,

Thirty three days and thirty two nights,

I have been here,

eating peppers and clams,

 But I thirst,

not just for water, but to read my Bible,

I love reading about the story of Job,

how he perservered through adversity,

and was then graced with double the prosperity that he had before,

I wish for prosperity,

but more than nothing, peace through this storm.
