Perfect, Sweet, Him

The flame flares,

I see it reflected in your eyes

Or is it mischief?

You take my hand and pull me

Onto the dance floor as we

Shift and sway to the beat,

My hand in yours, trembling.

You laugh and whirl me around

One thought whizzing through

On my train of thought:

Kiss me, kiss me, kiss HIM!

Reading my mind, or possibly my face

Open like a book

He leans in...

Closer, closer,closer...

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

I bolt up out of bed,

Slip on my glasses,

And give a braces-filled smile

As I hug my pillow and sigh.

"Perfect, sweet, him"

Just a perfect dream
