The Perfect Trap

Sever all ties Starting anew No longer me, But a new you Molded to perfection Stretched to snap Skin pulled tight Over a perfect trap Made to be the golden one The perfect little trinket Set atop a pedestal Shown in all glory Pruned from birth All bad seeds removed Prevented by protection Until one forgotten bloom A tiny rainbow seed Contrast to black and white Perfection marred By one unpreventable bloom No longer atop A pedestal of glory Rather sent To a dungeon so gory Misery heaped Upon a body so frail Only so much weight Until one fails Snapping morals Emotions buried deep Taught skin retracting Free of your perfect trap Havoc wreaked upon everyone Sleep shall not come Till I am done Tearing a perfect picture apart.

Study the works of other poets who write in a minimalistic fashion (William Carlos Williams is a great example). These poets do not scarifice the subject for the effects in the piece. Complications in verses only dissuade readers from the poet's work. Q.V.
