A Perfect View
I plant my feet into the ground
as every girl behind me
pushes me against the barricade
As if there is a $2 million cash prize
on the other side of the barricade.
Thousands of people screaming
Hoping to be noticed
by their favorite band.
They scream because
the most popular song comes on,
and they immediately sing along.
I scream because
I know the band brings up fans
Onto the stage
during that song.
I jump so high
like a basketball player
because I know
I'm going to get picked.
Suddenly..
The lead singer picks me.
I am going on stage.
My view from the stage
is an unexplicable view.
I see thousands of people
Staring at the same place.
The stage.
Helping my favorite band
perform their song
has effected my life
more and more
each of the nine times
that I was given
the opportunity.
