Perfect World
What if we closed our eyes and opened then back up to a perfect world? A world where all smiles were genuine and when someone promised to do something they would. We'd open our eyes and by the sheer brightness of how pure and happy this perfect world is, we'd be blinded. But that's alright, because maybe in this world you don't have to see to believe or by sight be guided. Because any secrets that we've wanted to hide or have hided, Would become beautiful. Because in this new world no one judges or is judged. Instead we all celebrate each others existence an no one feels unloved. A world where nobody ever has to ask "Are you okay?" Because there's no reason not to be. But they do anyway. A world where you can be you and I can be me. But no one would treat us any differently. Because in this world everyone sees through technicolor glass. Not assessing by race or background, but by the virtues that they have. And at night, in the dark, when there's no one home. Even if your insecurities could still exist, no one would feel alone. And if there were a time you were to want something but couldn't afford it the shopkeeper would say, " Hey man, just take it I know your good for it." And each evening there'd be a party, at no particular time of night. And people would sing and dance and toast to another day of life. But we open our eyes and the world we see, is just exactly what our expectations let it to be. And the smiles are fake and secrets stay hidden. And the doors are all locked so no one can get in. You close you eyes and I see the ghost of a smile. I know where you're going if only for a little while. And while they wrap themselves up to hide from the cold. Everyone dreams of the perfect world.
