Perfection

I make honor roll and play in the orchestra

I take AP classes and do volunteer work

I have abilities and ambitions,

Passion and perseverance

I’m conscientious and compassionate,

Dedicated and determined

I’m polite and poised,

Always respectful

I’m the picture of perfection,

Right?

WRONG

I’m not a fucking Disney princess

I don’t belong up on some pedestal

I make mistakes and say stupid things

I use profanity and refuse to wear makeup

I have issues and insecurities,

flaws and fears

I’m stubborn and sarcastic,

quirky and chaotic

I’m messed up and misunderstood,

And sometimes I just lose it

I’m nowhere near perfect

But hey, that’s me
