Perfection

There's a girl,she's beautiful

But she doesn't see what everyone else sees, she can only see her imperfections

Her eyes are plain

Her skin is a little dry, but to her it feels like sandpaper. She tries to hold it all together, she just wants to be perfect.

She chases perfection, starving herself for attention.

God why can't you give her what she desires?

Perfection, she chases perfection

There's a boy, who feels like he's just a toy

Like he could fade today, and everything would stay the same

He feels so useless, his dad says he can't do this.

That he's nothing

That no one wants him

He doesn't understand, why can't his dad love him?

He chases perfection, dying for his dad's attention

God, why doesn't he love me?

Perfection, he chases perfection.

They both feel so alone, their hopelessness continues to grow.

Their weaknesses always show, why can't they hide this brokenness?

Perfection, the fruit that is forbidden, in the garden of Eden,

Perfection has only been attained once, only been claimed by the one who made us,

Perfectiong, so close, yet so far.

Desperation sinking in, what would you do to be perfect?

Desired by all

The girl is hungry, the scars cover her wrist.

She can't look in the mirror, she broke it long ago

She falls to her knees begging, screaming...

"God please take me home! Noe one wants me, but with you I am known. I'm so tired

of being broken and alone. God just take me home!"

The boy notices her scars, her tired eyes, and pale face.

She sits in the corner, her eyes void of any light

She's so broken, it's starting to show.

Her beauty still shines, it hasn't even began to fade.

The boy, he feels alone, he just needs someone to love,

He's given up on God.

Because God, never answered his desperate calls.

"Maybe if I was perfect, dad would actually love me"

He starts to think

Maybe he's standing on the brink of a break through

If only he could see, that his Father

His Creator, loves him

And has been chasing him since he was conceived

Since he could think and breathe.

They keep chasing perfection, dying for someones attention,

God why doesn't anyone love me?

Perfection, they chase perfection.

Not everything is always happy, you see, people try to hide their insecurities

Their flaws, to appear to be perfect.

Perfection is not attainable

For we are sinful

We do unspeakable things

That is our human race.

God loves us, though we are dirty, broken, and we wander away

And call out on our desperate days

He holds us in his hands

Never loosening his hold

He loves us

His loves is unconditional

He will never let us go

For we are God's children

Just put your faith in Him.

He will walk beside you, and carry you through your trials

Leaving his footprints in the sand

For man is not strong enough to get through this wicked would alone.

God is the light in the darkness

He is perfect

THough we can never be

Why is it that I still strive to be?

Perfection, I'm always chasing perfection.

God, please save me , for you have made me

A promise to always love me.

God I need you, just save me.

I'll never gain perfection

I'll only dream to be.

Perfection can't you see?

God loves me.

Perfection, perfectiong, I still seek perfection.

I love to write, it helps me to release, and in a way I feel like I'm creating something small. Even if it doesn't matter, ya know?
