Perfection

My eyes only caught a glimpse,

Before the screen began to blur,

A blood-curling scream escaped my lips,

As my cries began to slur,

My perception of perfection,

Has guided me along,

Showing me the supposed direction,

Where my dreams should belong,

Forever striving for that title,

The one that whispers secrets,

Like how my grades are vital,

And that will forever be my weakness,

Never have I ever,

Lived without this pain,

All the potential happiness I never,

I never will obtain.

Details a unique take on how perfection can end up being an obstacle in your path to happiness.
