Perfection

You’re awfully close to perfection

even your scent lingers after years without vision

am I mad or is because you’re so rad?

No, I’m mad because you’re so awfully close to perfection

what yet needed to be filled?

NOTHING!

You were perfect in my eyes

even if I only had two

I wish I had a thousand so I can see

you from every angle

pink roses were my first and my last

can you hear it?

The leaves crunching beneath us?

I hear you’re happy

I can feel it my ear

I can even feel it in your heart

please don’t let me be mad, because

you were awfully close to perfection

I can’t help but be brutal to myself because I loved you I truly did

and nothing you could ever do would ever hurt me

you were so close to perfect so how could you hurt me

how can someone so awfully close to perfection

hurt me
