Perfection

Perfection

How many ways can one describe perfection?
The same number of times one looks at their reflection.
A curious soul will think and wonder with little recollection
of what I mean by making such a bold connection.

Well, my curious friend, I will explain.
Every time you look in the mirror,
an eye peering for pure perfection
will only find disdain.

Pure perfection, lovely companion, does not exist.
It is an idea, a figment of the imagination
To look for it in oneself will only lead to sorrow
and indignation.

However, if you continue to peer inside the soul without fear,
then through your constant reflections,
 it should eventually become clear
That once you find a love of self
And only when you cease to leer
will perfection be realized
and of course, be the most dear.
