Perfection

Tell me what would happen if everything was divine. If there were no more struggles and the roads were all straight lines. Suppose everything were perfect; no guilt, nor hate, nor crime. If society was simply harmonic like a beautiful wind chime. Tell me what would happen if we finally achieved world peace. If we somehow managed to rid ourselves of starvation and poverty. Would we still have those few, the ones who'd beg for more? They'd run around aimlessly just like they had before. Would those who used to riot for "peace" and "equality" simply stroll around, dying inside, for the way things used to be? If everyone claimed what they craved with nothing left to be sought after; would we at last be able to fill the world with love and joy and laughter? Or would we even still want more? As all people often do. For wanting more is human nature; it thrives in me and you. People blindly ask for things, usually oblivious to what the soul wants. And then some rebel, and blame others when unintended pleas come back to haunt. So if the world was what some call perfect, tell me, would it truly be so? Or perhaps the world is perfect the way it is; with ups and downs, joy and sorrows.
