Perfection

Perfection is what everyone tells me to be

Teacher says flawless is a 4.12 weighted GPA

A resume down to the floor

With charity work you sign up for to help yourself

Help yourself get into college, look good to others

Mother says flawless is making the bed

Standing there without rolling my eyes

While getting nagged for breathing the wrong way

Friends tell me flawless is a long curtain of blonde hair

Clear skin and a boyfriend with sky blue eyes

Boys tell me perfection is a big ass and a small waist

Funny but not funnier than them

Being flawless is loving yourself

The way the sun loves to come out and greet the moon

At the end of a long night

Perfection is too-small ears and an out of key singing voice

Having two left feet and split ends

Telling corny jokes and being too short

Perfection is you and me and everyone in between

Be flawless because you realize your flaws aren’t flaws

Every nuisance makes you, a better you
