Perfectly Imperfect
What is seen on the outside is make believe,
Nothing but a false image we wish to achieve.
A fairytale story everyone reads,
To be seen as flowers when we are still simply seeds.
I also have this "filter" curse,
And I admit to it now in this verse.
Wanting to make this fantasy a reality,
That is the way of our society.
In photos you will find smiling and laughing,
But it is simply a ruse to hide the anger and crying.
What is seen is all made up
Instead of half-full, I see a half-empty cup.
People see someone that is a fighter and is strong,
But what they see couldn't be more wrong.
The truth tells a different story,
About a girl who too many times says "sorry".
Always filled with confusion and doubt,
Not knowing if my seed will ever sprout.
Yet, no matter how low I go,
I'll see the end of this show.
Trying to solve life's problems like a quiz,
I'm not perfect but then again, nobody is.
I've made up my mind to see life through,
Following a path that only I drew.
So this is the real me,
Wanting nothing more but to live life happily.
Someone you may not expect,
Who is perfectly imperfect.
