Perform Dear Girl
Deep breaths, They say
It gets easier
Each step
My heart pounds
My palms sweat
My body shakes
with a mix of
Furor and Fretfulness
Can I hold it together
I gasp
Not realizing
I was holding my air captive
I make my first move
A sound
A single Note
Floats on the still air
Resonating on the walls
The ceiling
The floor
the people
Their eyes
Dot the room
Like a field of daisies
I do it again
A sound
A note
And then another and
Another
Until music flows from me
