The Performance
With much practice and perfection
it is my time to shine.
I'm up on stage
with spotlights so bright.
As nervous as I am,
I'm ready to begin.
The piano starts to play
and there's no looking back.
I sing my heart out
and put my fears behind.
With the croud applauding
after every song,
and with nothing left to lose,
I give one last show.
With all my might,
I bellow the last few notes,
in hope to not slip-up.
Flowers are thrown, and
my stress subsides.
And for once I am truly at peace.
