Periwinkle Eyes

Once upon a time

in the lavender fields

shone a sun in the deep blue sky.

But even deeper was the blue

that shone in that sun's

ocean-deep periwinkle eyes.

As it kissed my face

it was mine, I belonged

to be forever and ever that way.

But the clouds rolled in

and covered my sun

and from the tips of my finger

you blew away.
