i belong to that classification of the male species known as man
i am a man
and, not altogether the same
i'm a man in my own league
i often hear guys claim that they are men, but have nothing to show
they experience mid-life crisis or frustration with life always identifying their manhood
with ideals of purity, freedom, and ownership
complaining of what a man should've, would've, could've done, but sinks like a battleship
it's about growing and overcoming adversity
it's about seeing beyond a university
being a man can be scary
its rewarding that separates men from boys
for example
men build homes, boys shack up with their homeboy
men stands on his own, boys needs additional reinforcement to pretend to act tough
i know life can be rough
life is what you make if it
i'm finding my place on social ladder now knowing where i fit in
the answer is i don't fit in, i stand out
i want to be glared at atrociously by the next guy intimidated by my presence
but in all essence
i don't find myself entertain with that stupidity
i'm beyond that ignorant idiocy
i continue to strive to be originally unique and defy convention
and yet, attempts to classify me as every other guy is due to perception
being a man can easily be said
if you don't stand up for something, you will fall for everything
