The Perks of Death

hurt fades
a mantra
distance themselves
from all
hurt fades.

hurt fades

They say

crying, writing

last words

hurt fades.

hurt fades

thoughts, they

vanish quickly

at night

hurt fades.

hurt fades

where the

lonely wander

dust roads

hurt fades.

hurt fades

from limp

bodies hanging

from trees

hurt fades.

hurt fades --

it takes

a lifetime.
