Perpetual Dejection

Joy and glee are but a mere mirage waning in the distance; they are an attempt to obtain the unattainable, grasp the ungraspable, beseech the grudging .The feeling of dismay constantly remains barricaded deeply within one’s core, never to see the light of day again. Thoughts of death and despair loom like an ambuscade scattered amongst the bush, waiting for the precise moment to attack; like an imminent storm in the distance, ready to tear a path of destruction and leaving sheer disarray in its wake. The darkness invites the damned, the vile, and the ill willed to partake in undertakings that could only been spawned by Satan himself. This darkness broods……NO it encompasses one like an oppression of the heart, truly causing a sclerosis to the light. To happiness. To life. To love. To the pursuit of such things that makes the heart yearn for another day of living, simply for the sake of living. However, the darkness- filled heart is trapped like one clawing and scaling the walls of a never-ending abyss, meant to climb the infinite path to nowhere. One almost falls up, because they do climb yet the journey is stale and stagnant; the journey is set to fail from the beginning and there is no happy ending, no good defeats evil, no hero to save the weary princess and no knight in shining armor. NO…..this story ends with a twisted knife in the back face down in the woods, betrayed by the one we loved. With a desperate reach for the light at the end of the tunnel that seems so close, yet so far. With a calloused heart, incapable of love, emotion, or penetration. With the burdens of the world weighing so heavily on one’s shoulders, that the foundation grows weak and is soon compromised, surrendering to the evil that has stifled one’s lonely existence.
