Perpetuity

Leo sits on a park bench, East of main street. The setting sun eclipses a broken skyscraper that at one time housed a computer company. He raises a red travel mug to his lips the coffee's steam flows from the mug, up into Leo's nostrils. His pupils begin to tighten, gazing into a deep red evening sun. Saluting a lone man To endure another period of darkness In solitude. Bereft of a companion's touch, Leo inhales and exhales with gusto. A strength waning on into the emptiness of existence. A lone fickle heart. Beating for the sake of Beating. Leo slouches back his eyelids tighten. Eyes keen looking for a man he once knew. Leo waited, and he hated. For a man he once knew. Leo sat with God, at a quarter past two.
