Perseverance

Location

If I succeed, best believe you're the reason I am me,

If I fail, remember you were the reason I tried to be,

I do this for family, but most importantly,

I do this for me,

Sky's the limit may not be true,

How can you say that when there's footprints on the moon?

All these voices calling me a rookie at best,

I've put in the time; call me a veteran nothing less,

I'm a star about about to take flight at the speed of light,

A boy from Salinas with a bright future in sight,

My mind's on the grind to take what's mine; you think I won't make it in time?

Catch me at the finish line.
