That Person

Who are we to judge those that suffer and strive? This is not the way to live our lives, this is not the reason we are alive, You are not god, you don't get to judge, Just show compassion and spare your love, When you see someone down on their luck, do not look down but raise them up, If someone is crying with invisible pain , it is not our place to blame and shame , When you see someone trying their best, It is not down to you to make them feel less, That person you saw with holes in their clothes, May be fighting a battle that nobody knows, That person who struggles to hold down a job, May be longing for work and a place to belong, That person who seems like they want noone near, Might be scared to make friends and living in fear, That person who sits alone, as quiet as a mouse , Might have struggled today to leave their own house, That person who struggles to get out of bed, Maybe fighting a Demon inside their own head, One that tells them that nothing they do is right, theres no escape from this voice from morning through night, they will not shut up they will not let go, this voice in their head is running the show, And everytime they try to fight, You take away their shining light The light grows dimmer every day, With every shadow you cast their way, Each shaded word blows out that flame And replaces it with rage filled shame Until there's nothing left inside, a deep dark hole where nothing shines Until your suffocating in despair You try to reach and breath for air Searching for someone somewhere To show you that somebody cares Do not judge what you don't understand, Instead let's try to reach out our hand, A phone call, a smile, a simple hello, Can give someone hope to feel less alone A friendly ear, 5 minutes of your day, Could help to take someone's troubles away, So please do not make people feel ashamed, For an invisible scar with invisible pain, For someday you may find yourself in their shoes of despair, And wish for someone to show you they care,
