The Person I Knew

I look in the mirror and nothing appears All I see is a cloud of mist and fear Fear and a lack of self-esteem with a false sense of sheen I start to think to myself why does my image not show? And then I think to myself all the things that I know Sometimes I take off my glasses to see how the whole world looks at me These spectacles sometimes offer me clear vision but end up clouding the truth away from me I am me, I am myself, I should be proud of what I am and not hide from behind them I took my glasses off and my image showed And the person I used to know became what I knew.
