The person inside this beast

Why you? Why is it you that tickled me pink, gave me butterflies and made me smile like there was no tomorrow? Every time your named had popped up, my heart spun and fluttered, as I felt it rupture in beats. I thought you were a sweet tasting to the tip of my tongue. Your words sauntering around my heart strings, formulating dazzling melodies. And then it became sour, the words you didn't say and the faulty ones you had, sizzled gashes into my heart and my eyes glisten. You were a poison injection into my blood stream. As you walked away, I stayed, mumbling thoughts that I never whispered into your ear, adjectives that I never had the courage or right to say, melodies you'd never hear. Everyone saw you as this horrific beast, that I was a fool to have believed in you. I saw you as a human, someone who overjoyed me in the past year. What happened to "I care?" What happened to "I can't wait to see you!" What happened to "I will never leave again." Was it just the time being? Why is it, after all this time, I STILL try and find the person I knew that is inside this beast. Maybe it's the bedtime story you wrote to me.
