A Person Voiced

A sound with meaning,

Taken for granted,

A being, a life,

Voiced through language.

Song of the elated,

Cries of the mournful,

My love for you spoken,

Something so special.

I can tell stories,

Passed through centuries,

The tongue swallows and repeats,

Emotions, philosophies.

To the ones I love,

I could not live without,

But I can tell them now,

With my own voice from my own mouth.
