To the person who feels unloved

To the person who feels unloved

starving for what you’ve never had.

Your heart beats strong, loud.

Breaking down when you’re sad.

Not loud enough to gain the attention of a crowd.

The negative thoughts in your head scream so loud.

Like an empty stomach,

starving for attention.

Just one second is all you need,

Instead of being seen, ignored, exiled to a lonely dark dimension.

Looking for one person to hear your cries, hear your pleads.

Feeling stuck, cold, in the dark all alone;

You’ve got to give yourself the keys.

When someone does decide to knock, you pretend no one is home.

Hesitant from your starving and loudly beating heart.

Afraid to open up when darkness is all you’ve ever known.

If you did open up, what would you say?

Let them in, give them the key.

Sharing love and light will only bring a new day,

full of joy and security and the power to be free.

To the person who feels unloved,

let them in and give them the key,

because if you don’t love yourself  then nobody will.

Allow yourself to be set free.
