to the person who murdered me
Dear the person who murdered me,
I was a happy, innocent kid
Life was good!
I could feel the ground beneath my feet,
and see the lovely world in my eyes.
My dreams were a reality.
Now,
I lay cold, numb, emotionless.
With my heart brutally ripped out of my chest,
With the world, too painful to bare.
I can no longer close my eyes,
For my dreams have morphed into my worst nightmare.
You slammed your axe into my wrists,
But the cuts were not skin deep.
They reached my spirit,
Slowly killing that too.
I’m left with little energy
To even fight too.
I cried,
As a baby does when first born,
Trying to breathe.
Working up the courage to face you,
To face the world again,
I screamed.
But,
Despite my cuts and bruises, I shine.
Despite being buried six feet deep, I climb.
Despite my shaking knees, I stand.
Despite my death, I am still alive.
I win.
