As a Person in this world

As a person in this world you can do nothing but sin

While all our black men sit in a pin

We try to out run the past

But it always come back but this time with a bigger blast

It hurts worse then you could imagine

Even though somehow you knew it was bound to happen

As a person in this world you can do nothing but sin

Or try to find the evidence,

No matter your fury, no matter your fate

Everyone still has that one date

Where the end becomes reality

And life becomes a tragedy

As a person in this world you can do nothing but sin

Everyone can tell you this I mean

Even a black young hopeless queen

Although you work hard

No one works harder

But you can’t do anything

If you’re not a white mans daughter

As a person in this world you can do nothing but sin

As you wonder will you ever fit in?

You lose your place

To a person who was never in the race

You live your life with millions of tears

But that will only last a couple of years

You feel as if it’s your right to fear

Even when there’s nothing near

As a person in this world you can do nothing but sin

Everything is turning without a wheel

Even though you’re trying to figure out why it so surreal

You will never understand how to feel protected

If you are always neglected

As a person in this world you can do nothing but sin
