Persona
The familiars stare and occasionally whisper a prayer.
I ignore them and whisper back a swear.
I wait, for I know what they'll ask,
"Why are you like this? It's like you're a mask!"
Of course, they sweeten the words with censorship,
so it sounds more like one crude word, which makes me sensitive.
Isilently question their judgement and say "I'm a persona. Nothing more.
This look is not a bore, a roar or even a chore.
I won't be the same tomorrow for there is a risk,
So I won't be aware that I'm causing my own mental frisk.
I go under many names and none are the same.
Being myself is nothing more than a game.
Tomorrow I could be straight, bi, or gay!
You'll never find me again so enjoy me today!"
