A Personal Letter

Wed, 02/07/2018 - 18:02 -- Kirstie

Dear Mr. H,

Words can’t say

How much you have done

For all of your students

But especially for me.

You answer my questions

Earnestly and thoughtfully

You congratulate me when I do well

But don’t hold onto my failures.

We have known each other a long time

4 years to be precise

The entirety of high school math

Has been learned through you.

You’ve seen me at my best

You’ve seen me when I’m weak

You’ve never given up on me

Helped me to get where I am.

Throughout the entire school

My favorite room is the math room

I talk about school and about life

You listen and give advice.

You wrote my letter of recommendation

And offered me guidance

Calmed my insecurities

Believed in me

Thanks to your presence

I have benefited more than I could have ever dreamed.

Sincerely, Your Student
