Personal Nationalism

Dear My Home,

You are my everything

My home, my life, my blood

Yes?  I reside in you always.

But how do you expect me to love you?

I’ve been with you,

For what seems like,

Forever…

And now you throw this at my face?

This mockery?

I knew I couldn’t trust you…

For a long, long time now,

But your pale blue eyes mock me.

You’re fake sun kissed skin.

Imitating who?

The indigenous?

The ones you want to follow their same fate?

I’m often told that I

Look like the

Perfect representation of you.

Very accurate.

I look like; facts like,

But not like.

Fact like due to ancestry

Appearances but,

May I never talk like.

May I never act like.

You, duck fluff and

Pale blue eyes.

How do- do I

Love yee old man

You, my home,

Without trust

I do love you…

I fear for loving you

I fear only knowing you and

Those who love you knowing you

I fear your face.

You’re pale blue eyes with

Skin a mockery of what your FACE

Fights for; Your face, a caricature.

I love you.

I don’t trust you but,

I don’t need- because

I was taught to love you

When I was little I read about

All your glories

You victories and I thought,

“HOW GREAT YOU MUST BE”

Then I read and

Found that all those

VICTORIES were

Paid in blood and

I love you so

I will tell you that

I fear for your health you’re doing-

I want to protect you

From how much you’ve

Strained yourself from-

Don’t trust you I-

But wait why,

Are you throwing a temper tantrum

Jeez I just want

What’s best for you please stop

Whining with your pale blues eyes I

Know half of you is afraid I

Knowing you’re fighting inner demons, but I

Just want to tell you that I

Love you.

Sincerely
Your resident since birth
