Personal Statment

My reasoning to attend college is for the experience. College is a great way to give me experience in my future career. Preparing me and teaching me what I need to know and giving me a great learning experience so I don't enter my future career blinded .As well as meeting new people and developing relationships with them. this is also good because they might help me when I need them because no one knows how helpful they might be in making you succeed. I can also recieve an internship and that’s a plus because I would be directly study under those that are really successful in their area.As well as helping out my parents in whatever way possible. helping them is also important to me because they helped where I am they pushed me be to be in the position i'm in right now, because Growing up we were not that great financially my parents struggled a lot. At some points we didn’t have a car so it be really difficult to drive us to school and pick us up. Being faced with this challenge my parents never failed to take my sister and I to school. At other time the things they needed to pay would get really expensive because my father works from home and sometimes he would have to stay up to complete some of his tasks this would cause some bills to rise but at the end of the day it would get paid. I’m proud of my parents because no matter what hardship they were faced they got through it. And watching them struggle has made me want to work really hard so they wouldn't have to worry as much and college can definitely help me in that area.I believe I developed their drive, their will to never give up even if life can be difficult at times.

My academic background wasn't really that good, academically. I felt that no matter how hard I would try and how long I would study I still received low grades. Now it's wasn't that I didn't pay attention it was that I could not pick the material fast enough. I had a hard time just learning the materials. Being faced with this challenge didn't stop me I spent a while after school being tutored by my teachers and little by little my grades improved. And thanks to my teachers help and my determination I received grades in which I know I tried my best and sure they may not be the best but i put a lot of effort into those grades. My grades were not the only aspect affected by it my test scores improved as well and when I took the SAT in June I scored high enough to be put in Honors. I am well aware that honors is no walk in the park and that i really need to work but working is nothing that new to me. Honors is just another stepping stone i need to accomplish and although it may be difficult I know if I use the resources that my school provides and I try my very best in these classes I might be fine

I come from a family of five and my parents do their very best to try to provide clothes school the essentials. Even though my Parents need to provide for my two other siblings they find a way to provide for my academic on top of feeding clothing housing basically the essentials, they help pay for my academics because they feel that school comes first and everything else is second nature

On my personal time I attend church where I help with the sound and computer. I help as well as learn how the sound equipment works and adjusting each volume and if it they ne more sound on the house or the monitor. This is an important job because if we don't have the sound ready the the entire service sounds bad so a lot rides on us being able to perform properly. This is the job that people in my church are training me in because they feel i'm ready for that much responsibility.
