Personalitie

Sometimes I look at the trees,

And often, I think that they

        look back at me.

They seem to beckon impatiently,

      Are you coming?

I sit and watch for awhile

As they whisper, with their heads

       close together, they're

Like giant children, sharing secrets

     We humans have forgotten.

In the autumn, you can see

Their personalities, as they trade

       thier green outfits for

Their favorite colors.

The pushy ones choose the reds

And the golds. The oddities favor orange.

      And those with modest souls

rather dress in a humble brown.
