Personified Heartbreak

You are the breath that comes between sobs
You are the way my hands shake when I try to hold to hold a pen against a page
You are the home that no one ever took the time to finish building
You are the last shot at the bottom of the bottle that no one can bring themselves to drink
You are the tension that hangs in the air after "I love you too" and before "but honey I just can't keep doing this"
You are the personified version of events that people spend lifetimes burying under the hearts of other who were foolish enough to believe it all
