Perspective of a Soldier

This is HELL, I know as living people we don’t know what hell looks or feels like. But this is a close comparison to the stereotypes of the fiery underworld. The many lives lost, the many wounded, all the blood. Oh god the blood. The dark red liquid pouring out of your newly opened and gunshot skin. The men screaming over the ear piercing explosion. The feeling of adrenaline when you jump out of that plane with the other troops. The sleepless nights of just shooting our enemies. The thoughts of never coming home to see your beautiful family. Remembering the look on your friends face when he gets shot and killed right beside you. Now that you are home, you think about if you were still there fighting. The small children that look up to you because you used to fight for this land. The feeling of joy and accomplishment when someone thanks you for your service. The feeling of acceptance knowing you did a good job with what you were supposed to do in your life. The sweet release of death, when your days are over. Knowing your story won’t die as your body does. As you soul rises from your corpse it will know to watch over your loved ones as they carry on their lives and make you feel proud of their story ahead.
