Perspectives

I am done with

Having to shut up.

Having to sit down

When I want to stand up.

I am done with

Prejudices and assumptions

That people make with

No reasons nor facts.

People talking behind my back

Saying I’m too this or too that.

I’m lacking this or I’m lacking that.

I need this or I need that.

This is my life.

But this is not my country.

And my path

Has been bumpy.

Many see me as ignorant

Because I’m an immigrant.

But, I left everything behind

So my future could be redefined
