Pessimistic Optimism

The cup that I see isn't half empty.

In fact I think that the cup, it has plenty!

... Ok, I lied its not even wet,

But it’s hard to cry over milk that hasn't spilled yet.

I have to say optimism is tuff,

But that doesn't mean I’ll quit when its ruff,

So for all of you who think life doesn't matter,

And that there’s so many sticks and stones that your glass house will shatter,

And weather the pots are calling you black,

Or you have a 1000 word essay but your cameras been sacked,

That you can give up and call it quits,

Just because you’re down in the pits.

I will give you a towel, not to throw in,

But to clean up your act so that you can win.

So your not perfect neither am I,

But you’ll never win if you don’t try.
