Petrichor

I was safe in your arms
I ignored the alarms
I felt safe in your sight
Turned my face from the light
But your promises fell through
Though you said to trust you.
I was lost in your storm
Felt the rain and thunder form
You deceived me once again
But your game’s come to an end
I don’t fear you any more
I can smell your petrichor
Feel your rains begin to pour
So they call you petrichor.
You have tricked me once or twice
Broke my heart like blocks of ice
But it’s you who made it cold
With your secrets left untold
Your presence brings the rain
And you words bring back the pain
As my tears bounce off the floor
I can smell the petrichor
I have so much left in store
You can’t hurt me petrichor
