Pharaoh
A Pharaoh sits upon His sunny throne,
Surfeited,
Craven,
Oblivious.
The Clouds move in,
The Sun,
Veiled, hides beneath a layer
Of darkness.
Another day wasted.
What He cannot see cannot
Hurt Him.
They can merely
Remove Him.
The Clouds move out.
The Sun, radiant, shows
Flame once again.
The throne sits,
Empty.
