Phase change

You taste of desert sand and reek of rotten snow You purse your lips Expecting mine Which lower when you realize My lips are cut with grains of sand And a smiling Finely woven blood-red line Drips and grows before your eyes Where there should be fallen tears Shining and divine But you only find your greatest fear instead Amidst the carnage you’ve created. If I choose To blow a kiss I know will bring you down like an avalanche You’re defenseless. You’ll sizzle away beside a cactus And leave behind nothing but Your stench Rising up into the sun Where you mix into the faraway clouds And wait to stain another field Of laughter with your sorry rain.
