Phases

In this arbitrary conviction, I'm forced to relinquish parts of my soul To this world full of hate, carrying thieving obsessions As the fire scalds, it burns Watching it's flames grow taller and taller As the embers they surely fall To signal a long lived life beside a being, their love making me whole A light appeals to my darkening perception creating a wealth of beauty, so pure Our hands, yours in mine, as we begin to stride inseparably through the days of this life The future is calling Out to our brave guesses on what we think life inevitably has in store.
