Pheonix

My dying soul

sheds its skin of

-the past

I shake my aggression,

my vengence, my pain

all to the floor

Along with the images of

You.

My cacoon falls, dried out

and shattering, to the

ever-engulfing emptiness

of the cold, hard, tile flooring.

Like a pheonix, my soul

It burns away

to Nothing.

Your snapshot of my soul lasts,

only, with you.

I am,

       Now,

                Anew.
