Phoenician Goddess

Don't you dare think I've forgotten

I know I never could

I've heard people say you're fragile

Which is pathetic of them to believe

You are a force to be reckoned with

I've seen you

I've heard you

Coffee-shop talks of being disenfranchised prove how much passion for your beloved calling you incapsulate

But you're more than merely ferocious

You are strong

You know your story

And you own every bit of heartache and turn it into beauty

Bravo, my darling

Not many can

Floods of people scream out things "What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger."

But they try to sponge up pity and adulation

Whereas you simply prevail, like the Phoenician goddess you are

You go past that point

Your life is not exploitation

It is a masterpiece

Full of all your successes

And ready to hold that brilliant beacon of future you have

Shining from your eyes

I don't have the guts to tell you

I'll just throw this in some drawer somewhere

And write something better

But I believe this all

As should you, my darling.
