Phoenix of Understanding

i search by the questions in a bound tome

and out the window but see half nothing, half me.

i prowl the depths of the universe from a pinpoint

corner. the questions tower, as i, a shrimp,

cower.  i wrap the ancient leather around my arm

and hear pray as the smoking

gun blows in a puff.  a door i think should open

though time keeps eloping, and again i hear

pray and see where one tree once stood for me

a thousand tower and beg

we grow golden as golden continues to

grow—is there a sun in this blizzard of know?

with every love we forget

a rhythm has been lost and can

not be replaced in this great

horrific race, another

tree I learn

has fallen

a mighty oak. a spark ignites the bark,

the forest up in

flames. and from the

dank plump pillow of the world we see

mystery escape to be

raised again from the dead.
