Photo of me

From hip-hop and anime To poetry and prose My name is independent of the life that I chose Heartbroken, outspoken Optimistic and strong With a friend called the Lord, who can do me no wrong Stressed as a child, I felt left behind But I have no regrets, cause it molded my mind I tried to fit in, but I fit myself fine Cause my body and soul are now intertwined I tend to do things like post quotes here and there Cause I want what I learn to be heard everywhere Like Nat King Cole, I’m a classic romantic 1942 was where my heart was implanted My fire burns brighter, my spirit never rests Black and orange letters spell MALIK on my chest I now carry the torch to the younger generation To spark a new movement, new growth, a new nation I know I’m not perfect, I do things my way But I know I’m doing better than I did yesterday I leave it all here, for the whole world to see This is me without filters, the photo of me…
