Photocopies

I feel a change occuring

In my mind, my soul, caging

My thoughts, my affections

This emotion is raging

I feel these connections

In my neighbors, I can see aging

In eachothers' faces,

the paint on our houses, decaying

But please, let's slow our paces

The change too rapid for our salvaging

Rewind to our 90's parties

We seem to look better in those old photocopies

Our houses fresh with paint, reshaping

Our faces painted with smiles, illuminating
