Physics

Is it strange to like such a subject

Where the struggle to grasp a concept is real?

Or when the teacher teaches a callous lesson

That is sure to leave havoc on your grade

While others simply sit in the classroom

Expecting an A and a handsome transcript

I am there, listening diligently to the lecture

Pondering how and what I can contribute to such a subject

The subject in question is physics

Physics is what matters to me

Momentum, Energy, Electricity makes the world be

I was inspired by physics before the apple fell off the tree

Physics was meant to be fun

Like a child experiencing his first trip to the zoo

Or similar to entering your own euphoric fantasy

Except it is, to me, the only certainty we have in this uncertain world

Physics was meant to be fun

But it was also meant to answer questions

Kudos to Newton, Faraday and Einstein

For giving the world absolute answers

Religion, politics, the economy

All governing entities that bring ambivalence

When, Ironically, are supposed to bring absolute

Is the reason why I turn to natural science

A followed disciple of mine is not Isaac

But why should I follow John?

Mathematical principles of natural philosophy is not my bible

But nor is The Bible my reference manual

I have all due respect for the religiously devout

For it has given its followers the innate desire for comfort

They say science is a stubborn pursuit to discover the truth

But religion is the ignorant act to preserve the truth

The truth is something our very being bellows for

In a disheveled world, we are only but fledglings

Leaving the nest to ensure our growth in mind and body

For me, however, that’s the reason I turn to natural science

Perhaps physics was not meant to be fun

A man could lose his insanity trying to learn it

Perhaps I have yet to even leave the nest

And still find my way of thinking inchoate

And I can only hope twenty or so years in the future

That the diligence has paid off and that my mind will be ready

To make the endeavor to discover more

And leave my mark in history

To not simply be another student in a classroom

But rather an accomplished innovator ready to make change

And to find more truth

Because that’s just physics
