The Piano

Wed, 04/06/2016 - 14:57 -- BriL

Tone

notes slide off the page as the unending sweet sound of the keys sing a melody that my heart reaches out to

Dynamics

swelling of sound blasting in my eardrums like Beethoven’s 5th only to feel the exhausting release of the decrescendo

Staccato

incessant tiptoeing of keys as they sneak into my heart and never let go

Rest

feel the air leave my lungs as the music reverberates a harmony that can be heard in my soul

Fermata

anticipation grows as my heart precariously hangs off the edge of a cliff only to be pulled back in

Adagio

fingers slowly gliding across the keys of my heart like a dancer’s waltz

D.C. al fine

the deceptive end like a kiss goodbye only to rebound back to the where you began

Fine

a heartbreaking finale as my hands reluctantly leave the keys and I take my final bow

Piano

the love that I cannot live without
